Deepest apologies for the vacation
Welcome back everyone! I see many faces I remember and tons more new to me! Welcome back veterans and glad to have you newbies!
My deepest apologies for the strip’s long vacation. To not get into much detail, thankfully my feet are back underneath me again and I’m hopefully in a place where I can create the strip on a regular basis again. Currently there is a (huge) void in the strip (from August 4th to November 3rd) – I will try to refill this with content, but I do not want to promise what I am unsure I can deliver. If I do, you’ll be the first to know!
In the Works - Oh My Gods! Hardcover
While it's not ready to be finalized yet, I wanted to let all you lovely fans know about a special project I am working on. I am going to create an Oh My Gods! Special Edition Hard Cover book of the first Five Years of the strip. It will be pretty! It will be fantastic! It will (sadly) also be very expensive! However, I know there will be at least one customer (me) and perhaps maybe more!
Just wanted to give you all a tease!

Is Shivan commenting on a lack of respect for elements or a lack of knowledge about where they should be placed? either way I may not be Wiccan but I'm probably doomed anyway :)

methinks to Shivian....
..."Wiccan" = Fluff bunny... meaning those people who believe absolutely everything they read, think that the TV show "Charmed" is for real, and generally give Wiccans a bad name.
My opinion on this: Shivian is thumbing his nose at the Fluff bunny "wiccans" again, although he's right that the Elementals are not "just elements". That's like saying that any kind of smoke is "just air" and that it's okay to breathe.

(Shivian is probably giggling right now because of the heavy-duty analysis going on here.) I think that he's instead thumbing his nose at the Ceremonialists who look down on others, use Wiccan as a slur, and won't let you deviate from their prescribed norms.

It is both the fact that it's used as a slur from a ceremonialist who thinks only ceremonial magick is the right kind of magick... further, yes, as said, the Elements are not JUST elements, they are much more - as for rearranging, I leave this to you, humble reader, to chose your thoughts on...

Northern quarters?
This chick I used to know maintained that there was another system called "northern quarters," which her coven in Los Angeles used. North was air, east was fire, south was earth, and west was water. But then she's more than a little psychotic, so I can't say I trust anything she says.

I rearranged my elements
I rearranged my elements once for just five minutes, and for the rest of the year I was forced to be John Malkovich. She's not kidding!!! DON'T DO IT!!!

The set of elemental quarter correspondences that most of you are used to is actually a fairly recent development...18th or 19th century.
There are *several* elemental quarter systems used by various magical traditions. And some traditions use more than one. The Golden Dawn system uses three different elemental arrangements for different contexts.

I've seen it done many diffrent ways for diffrent Trads But that is the Fun of it You do it Your way I'll do it Mine and Both are right for Us.
